CFI’s Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA)® Certification Program will teach you the essential skills required to perform practical financial analysis.

The FMVA® certification provides all the skills, tools, and techniques required to become a world-class financial professional.

 

CFI’s Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA)® Certification Program covers the most important skills required to become a world-class financial analyst including finance, accounting, Excel, financial modeling, valuation, budgeting, forecasting, presentations, dashboards, and strategy.

 

This program is designed to equip anyone who desires to begin a career or advance their financial modeling and valuation knowledge. Our courses cover Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Levels so students can choose their own learning path based on their skill level and interest.

 

The FMVA® final exam is a requirement in earning the FMVA® certification and designation. It aims to increase the integrity of the certification and make the certification more valuable to potential employers.

 

In addition to completing the 14 required courses (11 core and 3 elective courses), students need to complete the final exam to earn their FMVA® certificate.

Exam Details

  • Exam structure: 50 multiple-choice questions including Excel modeling case studies, drawn from a randomized question bank.
  • Exam location: The exam is online and does not need to be scheduled.
  • Exam length: 3 hours
  • Exam content: The exam covers the content from the core and prep courses. Content from elective courses will not be covered.
  • Exam results availability: Students will receive their results immediately after completing the exam.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • Eligibility: The exam can be accessed upon completion of 11 core courses and 3 or more electives.
  • Number of attempts: One attempt
  • Retaking the exam: Students who do not pass the exam will have to wait for one month until they can attempt the final exam again. Each additional exam attempt follows the same process. Students who have already passed the exam are not allowed to retake the exam again.

  • Create insightful dashboards and advance data visualization techniques to communicate the results of financial analysis
  • Create aesthetically pleasing and insightful charts, graphs, and tables in Excel
  • Design impactful presentations to communicate key messages to a wide variety of audiences
